With the new reform Board, we have implemented one of the most comprehensive Sewer Management Plans in Marin County that will ensure the health of our creeks, bay and environment.

  • We have brought in ethical management that is restoring the public trust in the Ross Valley Sanitary District.

  • Protected the best interests of the ratepayers through smart fiscal management.

  • Initiated rehabilitation of Ross Valley sewer pipes that have been neglected for decades.

  • Have begun our ten year $67 million Capital Improvement program

  • Have initiated a lateral grant program to assist homeowners

  • Brought transparency to the operations and governance to the District

  • Worked with our local sanitation partners and voted to begin a large project to expand our sewage treatment plant

RVSD is Financially Sound:

The Board had decided last year that the best way to fund our large capital improvement projects was to get two 10 million dollar loans, rather than trying to pass bond issues. At the May 6th meeting the long overdue funding for our first of two loans has been approved at 4% for 10 years.

The consultant who is coordinating the loan stated that because the District is in such great financial shape we were able to get an interest rate below what others can get and additional beneficial terms that will save the ratepayers money.

Would  banks lend us $10M for twenty years if we were in financial trouble?

"Sue Brown and Marcia Johnson represent the best in citizen-led reform of our local sewer district from the grass roots upward.  Sue and Marcia have substituted competence and transparency for the "Good-ol-boy" antics of the prior Board.  We need to let Sue and Marcia continue their great work on behalf of all of us." --Paul Herbert, Former Fairfax Planning Commission Chair
